Athens has been the capital of Greece since 1834 and is the largest and most densely populated city in the country. It was named after the goddess Athena. It is located in Attica, in eastern Central Greece, and is one of the oldest cities in the world, with its recorded history dating back to 3200 BC.

Nydri is located on the eastern part of the island, at an altitude of 6 meters, and is 16 km south of the town of Lefkada. It is a well-known and cosmopolitan tourist resort in the entire region. The village became especially famous in 1963, when shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis bought the nearby islet of Skorpios. Since then, the village has hosted numerous celebrities from around the world. Today, there is a statue of Onassis at the village’s port.
